The Parent Stories That Inspired Quilt

Project Management

When my daughter was an infant, she was diagnosed with a genetic condition that leads to being multiply disabled. Suddenly, her medical appointments and therapy appointments began to snowball.

I was overwhelmed and kept waiting for the doctor who would swoop in to help us coordinate her care and develop a plan.  I looked at my husband and asked, “Who is the project manager for all of this?”

He looked straight back at me. “I think that person is...you."

Our Approach to Supporting Neurodivergent Kids

At Quilt, our mission is to empower caregivers to build a community of support that enables their neurodivergent children to thrive.

We embrace and practice a neuro-affirming and anti-ableist philosophy; celebrating the diverse ways every child experiences and engages with the world, honoring each child's unique strengths; and recognizing that what might appear as challenges are often opportunities to bridge skill gaps or modify the environment, rather than reflections of a child's will or motivation.
