About Quilt
At Quilt, we are proud to be owned by a neurodivergent founder who celebrates the strengths of unique brains. We understand firsthand the challenges faced by neurodivergent children and their families because we’ve lived it too. In a world where neurotypical approaches often aim to "fix" what’s perceived as "broken," leading to trauma for many neurodivergent kids, we’re here to offer a different path. With empathy and real-life experience, we’re dedicated to creating a supportive, inclusive space where differences are embraced and every family can thrive.
Who We Are

After a global career in management consulting, life changed dramatically in 2014 with the arrival of her son, Marlowe, and the loss of his twin brother, Avery. Within two years, Kate's family moved from London to New York to Palo Alto, CA. They also welcomed a second son, Miles. Over the next ten years, “Corporate Kate” stepped out of the workforce to become a full-time caregiver, building her expertise in an unexpected arena as she raised two neurodivergent children.
Navigating the ecosystem of medical specialists, therapists, and school systems, required time and money: so many forms, scheduling, insurance navigation, and waiting rooms - with toddlers. Kate armed herself with SNACKS, research, and a circle of trusted friends and advisors. Following the COVID pandemic, her family was on the move again back to the East Coast. The search for a support team in their new home started again.
Kate was inspired to pour all of this hard-fought knowledge, thousands of hours of parent conversations, and years of consulting experience into the creation of Quilt so that other parents live a journey with greater ease and find more joy, acceptance, and belonging along the way. Kate holds an MSc in International Development from the London School of Economics and a BA from Macalester College.
